Terms and Conditions
Terms for using Read Aloud: AI Voice Reader, a subscription-first iPhone app for listening to imported content.
Last updated: June 19, 2026
Service
Read Aloud: AI Voice Reader helps you import your own readable content and listen to it as natural audio on iPhone. Supported content may include PDFs, EPUBs, documents, web articles, pasted text, and scans, depending on feature availability and processing requirements.
The service is centered on content you choose to bring into the app. It is not a built-in audiobook library or account-based document hosting service.
Subscription access
The MVP is subscription-first and has no free tier. The only pre-subscription experience is Try It First using bundled sample content.
Subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store. RevenueCat is used as the subscription authority for entitlement checks, purchase restoration, and subscription status. Apple’s App Store terms also apply to purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and billing.
Your content
You are responsible for the files, links, scans, and pasted text you import. Do not import content you do not have the right to use, copy, transform, translate, process, or listen to.
You retain responsibility for reviewing imported content and generated output. Text extraction, OCR, article parsing, translation, speech generation, highlighting, and alignment can be imperfect.
Processing and storage
Documents are local-first by default, but some features require explicit backend processing. You authorize the app to upload, process, parse, transform, translate, or temporarily store content when you ask it to perform those actions.
The backend uses Cloudflare Worker APIs, Cloudflare D1 metadata, Cloudflare R2 storage, queues, and selected AI or parsing providers. The iOS app accesses these capabilities through backend APIs rather than direct database or object-storage connections.
Acceptable use
Do not use the service to process unlawful content, infringe intellectual property rights, bypass access controls, harass others, distribute malware, overload the backend, reverse engineer private APIs, or interfere with service operation.
We may limit, suspend, or block access where needed to protect the service, comply with law, prevent abuse, or address security risks.
Availability and changes
Features may change as the app, backend, AI providers, iOS frameworks, and App Store requirements evolve. Voice quality, language support, OCR, translation, article extraction, offline behavior, and processing speed can vary by device, document type, provider availability, and network conditions.
We aim to keep the service reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or error-free processing.
Privacy
Use of the service is also governed by the Privacy Policy, which explains local-first storage, temporary processing uploads, subscription entitlement handling, diagnostics, and the website/blog infrastructure.
